On June 22, Northern District police officers identified a Toyota Corolla vehicle with two suspects inside, who ignored police instructions and fled the scene, posing a real risk to road users.
At one point, one of the suspects jumped out of the vehicle, with a gun in his hand.
The police launched a determined foot chase, fired into the air, and managed to arrest the suspect, who was holding a Glock pistol with a cartridge.
The driver of the vehicle, only 14 years old, was subsequently arrested at a hastily set up police checkpoint.
Upon completion of an intensive investigation, a prosecutor's statement was filed against the two suspects – ages 14 and 22, residents of Nazareth – through the Northern District Attorney's Office, in preparation for the filing of an indictment.
