Legal drama in the international arena: The US Department of Justice canceled at the last minute the trial of lobbyist Jay Potlik, a suspect in the 'Qatar-Gate' affair.
According to a report this evening (Thursday) by Avishai Greenzig on the i24NEWS channel, the investigation, which was supposed to take place on July 9 at the FBI offices, was canceled in a surprising decision by the Americans - without an official explanation, but not for technical reasons.
The Israeli enforcement system is wondering if the cancellation is related to the emerging hostage deal, in which Qatar plays a central role.
At the same time, the Legal Advisor to the Prime Minister, Gali Baharav Mayara, decided to submit a request for the extradition of strategic advisor Israel Einhorn, who is residing in Serbia - and has been wanted for investigation, for months, in the 'Cutter-Gate' affair and the affair of the leaking of documents to the German newspaper 'Bild'.
All involved declined to comment at this time.
