The Families' Headquarters for the Return of the Abductees published a new video today (Thursday) that, they said, was intended to "voice the cry of the abductees' families.".
The video, compiled by the headquarters, includes life signals received from several hostages, including Maxim Harkin and Bar Kuperstein. The clips were taken from a video released by Hamas in April - and for the first time approved for release by their families.
In the video, the kidnapped Maxim Harkin can be heard shouting: "We are dying here with our pulse! We don't feel human!".
The video is intended to voice the families' outcry against the possibility of a partial deal that would include "cruel selections" and "separation between blood and blood.".
The families emphasize that there is no moral justification for choosing between the various abductees. According to the families, all 50 abductees are humanitarian cases. "Some of them are in danger of death, and some of them are in danger of disappearing forever.".
Maxim Harkin was kidnapped from the party in Ra'im. His family said it was his first trance festival. He lives in Tirat Carmel with a single mother and a younger brother, 11, who acts as the father of the family, and is himself the father of a 3-year-old girl. When the first barrage began on the morning of October 7, he sent his mother a message: "Mom, everything is fine, I'm slowly coming home.".
A few minutes later he wrote, "Mom, I love you," and she hasn't heard from him since.
Bar Kuperstein, a 23-year-old from Holon, is a United Hatzalah medic who worked as a security guard at a party in Ra'im. His friends saw him in a Hamas video, handcuffed and lying on the floor, and according to his family, even clearly shouting his name.
In recent years, he has become the main breadwinner in the family, after his father became a nursing home, and learned to speak again throughout the struggle for Bar's release.
