MK Gadi Eisenkot, who resigned from the State Camp party, submitted his resignation letter to Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana at noon (Wednesday).
In the letter, he wrote: "I saw a great privilege to serve the people. I will act with faith and commitment to creating a worthy leadership alternative for the State of Israel.".
According to the Blue and White list in the last elections, former MK Eitan Ginsburg is expected to enter the Knesset in Eisenkot's place.
On Monday, Eisenkot informed the chairman of the 'State Camp', Benny Gantz, of his intention to leave the party and return the mandate.
An official statement from the state camp stated that there is a long-standing friendship and deep appreciation between the two, and that they "will continue to work together to advance common goals and for the people of Israel, even in the future.".
After Eisenkot, MK Matan Kahane also informed Gantz that he intends to leave the party and the Knesset. Former MK Yael Ron Ben Moshe is returning to the Knesset in Kahane's place.
After the resignation of the two members, Gantz and the faction members decided to return the party to the name 'Blue and White', which was changed in the last election campaign.
