According to a report on Channel 14, the compromise was reached following a $20 billion lawsuit filed by the president against CBS, claiming that an interview with Kamala Harris on the prestigious '60 Minutes' program, which aired near the 2024 US presidential election, was biasedly edited.

At the heart of the lawsuit was an interview that was broadcast with Harris, in which she was asked a question about the Biden administration's relations with Netanyahu.

According to Trump, Harris's first answer - which was criticized for its wording - was broadcast only in the promo, while a different version of her answer, more concise and eloquent, was broadcast in the full program.

According to him, the interview was designed to present Harris in a positive light and influence public opinion in a biased manner.

A Trump spokesman told Fox News that this was a significant victory. "With this landmark settlement, President Donald J. Trump delivers another victory for the American people, once again holding the Fake News Media accountable.".

On the other hand, CBS and parent company Paramount emphasized that they do not admit to any journalistic wrongdoing.

Their statement said: "The settlement will include a waiver of all claims regarding any CBS reporting up to the settlement date." The agreement is expected to end all legal proceedings on the matter.
