Now we can tell you: In recent days, the ground has been boiling behind the scenes in Torah Judaism. The goal: the appointment of MK Yisrael Eichler to the position of Minister of Construction and Housing to replace the 'traffic jam' Minister Haim Katz, who has been appointed, for the time being, to replace former Minister Yitzhak Goldknopf.

Goldknopf resigned two and a half weeks ago, at the behest of the Gur Rebbe, due to the delay in advancing the draft law.
As far as Haim Katz was concerned, he didn't really interfere in the affairs of the ministry: Gur's representatives - CEO Yehuda Morgenstern and Moti Babchik - continued to govern as usual.
Members of the (so-called) 'United' party claimed: It is not possible that on the one hand you have resigned from the government and on the other hand you continue to hold onto the government. On the other hand, sources in Gore claimed in their defense: We have not yet taken a step that will harm the coalition, Goldknopf has the right to resign from his position as a minister.
Representatives of Degel HaTorah also sided with Eichler in the internal war in Agudat Israel. This is because, from their perspective, Goldknoff's return to the Knesset violated the "sacred balance" of 50-50, which Degel has fought for in recent years - because MK Eliyahu Baruchi was expelled from the Knesset.
After trying to apply pressure from various directions, this morning Gur's maneuver came: Deputy Minister Yaakov Tesler, who is part of the Gur-Wiznitz axis in Agudat Yisrael, resigned from his position as a Knesset member, within the framework of Norwegian law - which returns MK Baruchi from Degel to the Knesset plenary benches and also the 50-50 balance in place. Because of this, Degel lost interest in the internal rivalry within Agudat Yisrael.
The result: Israel Eichler was left alone in the tower, in his fight for the position of Minister of Construction and Housing.
For Prime Minister Netanyahu, the story only gets more complicated: Now he will have to decide whether he gives Gur a 'get of severance' and gives the case to Eichler and Belza, or leaves Yitzhak Goldknopf's retirement vague and hopes for better days, hoping that the scenario of Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir's retirement will repeat itself - and Goldknopf will also find his way back to the ministerial seat he abandoned.
To complete the picture, let's just mention: the meaning of not appointing Eichler as a minister is the dissolution of the government. It's complicated to explain why, but Netanyahu will have to decide whether to 'get a divorce for living together' or 'get a divorce for his beloved government.' Not easy.
Will the metaphorical dress that Eichler's wife sewed for the ministerial inauguration be respectfully returned to the wardrobe? Apparently yes. We'll know for sure in a few hours.
Either way, his appointment has not yet been confirmed at a government meeting (which was not held last night) and if and when he was appointed, there would be telephone confirmation between the ministers.
