The decision was made following Cohen's desire to promote the bill to establish a supplementary airport in Nevatim.
According to Cohen, the professional echelon in government ministries is acting contrary to the position of the elected echelon and is promoting the construction of the airport specifically in the Jezreel Valley: "The Deep State is mistaken in thinking that it is the sovereign, that it will determine where the airport complementary to Ben-Gurion Airport will be built. The same elements are promoting the airport specifically in the Jezreel Valley - contrary to the Prime Minister's position, contrary to the will of the valley's residents, contrary to logic and the historical justice that the Negev and its residents deserve.".
He emphasized that the purpose of his return to the Knesset is to bring to a vote the law to establish an airport in Nevatim: "I am returning to the Knesset to bring to a vote in second and third reading the cross-party bill to establish the airport in Nevatim - a national project that will bring tens of thousands of jobs and make the Negev flourish for generations.".
Cohen added: "Any Knesset member - from the right or the left - who does not support the law will be required to account to the residents of the Negev and the Valley.".
According to him, the chairman of the Economics Committee, MK David Bitan, deserves appreciation for promoting the law: "I sincerely thank the chairman of the Economics Committee, my colleague MK David Bitan, for promoting the law and bringing it to a vote for a third second in the Knesset plenum.".
Cohen addressed the values of settlement and the struggle for the future of the Negev: "Just as our grandparents did not give up on our future and made the Negev desert flourish against all odds - so too will we not give up on the future of our children. A group of disconnected officials will not determine the future of the country. The sovereign is the people, not the Deep State!""
Following the move, Norwegian MK Zvi Sukkot will leave the Knesset, and as expected, the clashes between Smotrich and Ben Gvir will resume.
