Amit Segal, the senior political commentator for News 12, answered questions from presenter Guy Peleg in the studio this evening (Wednesday) - who wanted to raise questions regarding issues related to the timing of the attack in Iran and its impact on the channel on which the two broadcast.

Peleg first asked why no polls had been conducted since the beginning of the attack, implying that this could have benefited Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Segal replied, "Our polls are conducted regularly according to fixed rules, about once every two to three weeks. We don't do polls at the beginning of wars. There are conspiracies that are not surveyed because they want to help Netanyahu. The simple truth is that there is no point in doing polls now for a number of reasons - one of them is patriotic - in times of war, there is no polling in the Consensus.".

Peleg wondered about the timing of the attack and claimed that politically it was good for Netanyahu, because he was immersed in many crises.

Segal responded: "The recruitment crisis has already been resolved and his situation in court is good. It should be noted that similar claims were made against Begin when the reactor in Iraq was attacked.".

He emphasized: "An event like Iran is not some targeted thwarting in Jenin. There is a huge operation here, involving tens of thousands of people and billions of shekels over many years. To claim that they are doing this because Gafni said something to Goldknopf and Attorney Tadmor said something - that is in the conspiracy wing.".
