Israel infiltrated hundreds of special explosive drones into Iranian territory, in many mysterious ways - over many months.

With the beginning of the war against Iran on Friday night, Mossad agents and trained teams operating on Iranian soil destroyed air defense batteries and missile systems, which were intended to strike IDF forces and the territory of the State of Israel.

The destruction of the air defense batteries allowed safe passage for the fighter jets, which launched a large-scale attack on Iran. At the same time, critical Iranian missile capabilities intended to take part in the initial response strike against Israel were destroyed in the opening moments of the attack.

This operation, to a large extent, contributed to the severe atmosphere of shock in Iran in the first moments of the attack, with the understanding that although they had prepared for an Israeli attack and carried out a counter-response, many of their critical capabilities had been destroyed.

According to a report by The Wall Street Journal - quoted by Channel 12 - in order to carry out the operation, Israel smuggled quadcopters (a drone with four blades) and spare parts and components for them into Iranian territory. Along with the drones and various spare parts, small explosive devices that could be attached to the drones were also smuggled into Iran.

The drones were introduced into Iran by Mossad agents through commercial channels and routes, based on a series of seemingly 'innocent' businesses, with the secret equipment being placed inside suitcases, trucks, and containers, including the explosives themselves.

'The Wall Street Journal reported, citing its sources, that small teams operated by the Mossad were positioned near Iran's air defense positions and ballistic missile launch sites.

Yesterday, Iran revealed documentation that allegedly shows trucks with special facilities in which the drones were held - and from which they were launched towards their targets.

The secret operation caused great panic in Iran, and the feeling that Israel was capable of reaching many targets in the country.

According to the report in the Wall Street Journal, the operation by Mossad agents on Iranian soil was not only intended to carry out the drone attacks - but also to harm the targets of the Iranian leadership in Tehran.

Although the operation to introduce the drones and explosives into Iran began a few months ago, the operation itself has been planned for years.

Mossad agents on Iranian soil took possession of the drones and explosives - and distributed them to teams on Iranian soil. Israel itself trained the team commanders in foreign countries, and the team leaders trained and coached their team members in Iran. The teams identified in advance the trucks that transported the missiles to the launch sites - and exploited "bottlenecks" in Iran to increase the damage to the targets.

One of Iran's shortcomings in the missile field is that they have four times more missiles than trucks capable of carrying them. Thus, dozens of trucks were destroyed throughout the night and early Friday morning.

Researcher Sima Shein, head of the Iran department at the Tel Aviv Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), told the Wall Street Journal that the Mossad drone attacks made a crucial contribution to Israel's rapid achievement of air superiority in Iran.

Shane emphasizes that the decision to expose the operation to the public has a decisive contribution to harming Iran and the leadership in Tehran. "No one in the senior ranks in Iran can feel sure that they are not a target of Israeli intelligence. It is not only the damage that was caused, but also the nerves and stress that it brought with it.".
