What about Haredi MK Yaakov Asher, and the celebration of the Mimouna of the secular mayor of Lod – Yair Revivo? The answer can be found in one of the Knesset's internal affairs committee discussions, a few months ago, where Asher hurled harsh words at Revivo, following his attempt to torpedo the population of the Haredi neighborhood in Achismech. Revivo was heard expressing at the time that he was afraid of the arrival of an economically 'weak' population, and that the type of people coming to live in the neighborhood needed to be 'diversified' - and he incurred Asher's wrath.

Only a few days passed and the purchasing public was informed that the project was progressing, to their satisfaction.

Asher, who promised that if the mayor did promote the project, he would help him with all his might and would be happy to contribute from his experience as the former mayor of Bnei Brak, came last night to 'close the circle' and honor the mayor who promoted the Haredi settlement.

In his speech, the mayor thanked MK Yaakov Asher for his participation in the event, and added that he was happy with the arrival of the Haredi population to the city of Lod in the Ahisamach project: "Populating the neighborhood will strengthen the city of Lod, which is in a development boom," said the mayor, adding: "I want to thank MK Yaakov Asher for standing on the side of the city of Lod, and with God's help, work will begin on the ground very soon.".

The mayor promised that "we will celebrate next year's Mimouna celebrations in the homes of residents in Achismech." Revivo noted that construction will begin in the coming days: "I understand the importance of the issue, and the municipality, together with government ministries, are preparing to begin the work." He added that he is confident that the municipality will receive the help to obtain the budgets for public institutions that this neighborhood will need.

MK Asher said in his speech: "I am happy and grateful to the mayor for having been able to make thousands of young Haredi families happy, and finally, after a long wait and great uncertainty, they can feel like free people and breathe a sigh of relief.".

Asher said that he accepts the invitation to serve next year in Achismak, "even if it is at a construction site," and also promised that after the great efforts invested in the matter by the mayor, "we will see the first work on the ground in the coming days.".
