Alarms sounded this evening (Tuesday) in the communities of Haspin and Ramat Magshim in the southern Golan Heights, after the Home Front Command issued a warning of rocket and missile fire towards the area.
This involved the launch of two rockets from the village of Tasil in the southern Syrian Golan Heights, where there is a large Palestinian concentration hostile to Israel - located 15 km from Hispin. The rockets fell in an open area.
Residents in the area reported hearing explosions.
At this time there are no reports of injuries or property damage.
In searches conducted by the police near the settlement of Ramat Magshim, remains of weapons that had fallen in open areas were located at two sites. Northern District police and saboteurs worked at the scene to remove the risk.
In response to the unusual firing, the IDF attacked the area from which the launches towards Israel were carried out with artillery fire.
This is the first time that rockets have been fired from Syria towards Israeli territory since the fall of the Assad regime and the rise of President Ahmed al-Shara'a to power.
Defense Minister Israel Katz responded to the firing from Syria into the Golan Heights: "We see the Syrian president as directly responsible for every threat and firing at the State of Israel, and the full response will come as soon as possible. We will not allow a return to the reality of October 7th.".
Shortly afterwards, a ballistic missile launch from Yemen was detected towards Israeli territory - and alarms sounded throughout the Dan Bloc, the Sharon and the Shephelah. Takeoffs and landings at Ben Gurion Airport were temporarily suspended.
The IDF reported that the missile was detected by air defense systems and successfully intercepted. A short time later, activity at Ben Gurion Airport resumed.
Shrapnel fell on a house in Modi'in-Maccabim-Reut, no injuries.
This is the second launch in the past 24 hours from Yemen towards Israel, after another missile was launched last night by the Houthi rebels and was also intercepted.
