The Ministry of Jerusalem and Israeli Tradition is pleased to conclude the hospitality activities of the hundreds of thousands of residents and guests in Jerusalem, who made their way to the Western Wall during the holiday - and stopped at the hospitality tents that the ministry set up throughout the city.

On the night and day of Shavuot, hundreds of thousands came to pray and study at the Western Wall from across the city of Jerusalem. They made their way on foot from the city center and neighborhoods and back during the holiday hours, with many of them stopping at the hospitality tents.

The guest community praised the decision to expand the activity in the central tents until the late afternoon hours of the holiday, in order to also serve those leaving and returning during the sunny hours, even though it was a smaller crowd.

As part of the construction work that took place on Saturday night, throughout the night, and during the holiday evening, many work teams participated, and a total of more than a square kilometer of tents and shading were deployed at 5 large, central points that were set up throughout the city of Jerusalem.

According to data provided by the production team that operated the tents on behalf of the Ministry of Jerusalem and Israel Tradition and the Jerusalem Development Authority, more than one hundred thousand people passed through the tents during the hours of operation.

In the tents, light refreshments, hot and cold drinks, grape juice for Kiddush on the holiday day, popsicles for children, and chairs for resting were available to the public.

Among other things, approximately 150,000 bottles of water were made available to the public, 30,000 popsicles were distributed to the children of the Hamed, 400 kg of sugar and coffee were prepared, approximately 30,000 cups of hot drinks were served, approximately 150,000 pastries were distributed, 7,000 liters of grape juice for Kiddush, and more.

In addition, approximately 20,000 copies of the Book of Ruth were distributed.

As part of the activity, dozens of people were employed, including stewards who were present at all hours of operation and provided service to visitors, along with security personnel, as well as cleaning workers to ensure that the place was clean and tidy for the benefit of all of Israel. In accordance with the guidelines, all employees were required to maintain the sanctity of the holiday.

This is the third year that the Ministry of Jerusalem and Jewish Tradition has been implementing this project through the Jerusalem Development Authority. Under the direction of Minister Porush, the hospitality tents were dedicated this year in honor of the late Eyal Chaimovsky, Director General of the Jerusalem Development Authority, who was a partner in the project.

The Minister of Jerusalem and Israeli Tradition, Meir Porush, toured the various points on the eve of the holiday with his team and the Jerusalem Development Authority team and insisted on carrying out the work in the best possible manner for the well-being of those who make their way to pray and study at the Western Wall.

Minister Porush wished to thank all those involved in the work who made it possible for the project to be implemented this year as well, including the late Director General of the Jerusalem Development Authority, Eyal Chaimovsky, who in his final days was involved in approving the project and implementing it.
