
Minister of Construction and Housing Yitzhak Goldknopf held a working meeting today (Thursday) at the construction site of the Kiryat Gat West project (Carmei Gat - West), in preparation for the start of construction on the first part of the project, in which approximately 10,000 housing units are to be built.
The meeting was attended by Director General of the Ministry of Construction and Housing Yehuda Morgenstern, Director General of the Rami Yankee Quint, Director General of the Urban Development Company Oshik Ben Atar, the administrative representative on behalf of the Kiryat Gat Municipality, City Council member Shimon Davis, Chairman of the Kiryat Gat Administration Bentzi Rakov, and representatives of the Kiryat Gat West Administration, Director of the Jerusalem District in the Ministry of Construction and Housing Gadi Mark, Director of the Jerusalem Region in the Rami, Assaf Raffeld, and the professional team.
During the meeting, the minister received a comprehensive overview of the future of construction in the area, and a number of barriers were also removed during the discussion to prevent delays in advancing the project.
During the meeting, it was agreed that all teams would work to reduce the gaps and meet the original schedule for housing the construction before 2030.
In accordance with the policy of Minister of Construction and Housing Yitzhak Goldknopf, public institutions will be built in parallel with the development of the neighborhood so that residents will move into their homes when the educational institutions are already ready for the benefit of the neighborhood.
Minister Goldknopf: "This is a good day with the start of work in Kiryat Gat - West. About ten thousand families are expected to live there in the initial phase, and here too, in accordance with my policy, public buildings will be built here in parallel with the development work so that residents will come here. There will already be educational institutions, synagogues, and more.".
