In contrast to the operation held earlier this week: The military police are preparing for an operation to capture ultra-Orthodox draft dodgers who did not report to the draft office.
According to a report by Roy Sharon this evening (Wednesday) on 'Kan News', the operation will include all populations and sectors, and its targets will be young people who did not report for the first and second orders.
Yesterday it was announced that the latest operation to capture deserters or evaders was not carried out in Haredi areas, and that in the three operations that have taken place since the beginning of the war, not a single Haredi was reported to have been arrested.
Unlike the previous three operations, the new operation will also include ultra-Orthodox draft evaders who will be arrested by the military police.
The organization "For You - The Yeshiva Student Assistance Center" announced yesterday that after a thorough examination, it became clear that there is no change in the army's policy towards Haredi yeshiva students.
""After a comprehensive and in-depth examination of all the published cases regarding the arrival of military police at the homes of yeshiva students, it appears that these are a number of isolated cases, which do not reflect a broad phenomenon and do not concern the regular world of yeshiva students.".
""It should be emphasized that the young men in whose case the military police acted are not defined by the military authorities as Haredi yeshiva students, and therefore, in these cases, no change in the policy or recognized activity of the military authorities towards the world of Torah should be seen.".
Roy Sharon, the military and security commentator for Kan News, tweeted criticism after the latest operation: "It is appropriate for the IDF to give a clear answer to the public - are the military police's operations to capture deserters only carried out against non-ultra-Orthodox evaders, and if not, then how many Haredi were arrested in the last three operations, or by some miraculous and statistically improbable miracle - did this not happen?"'
