Witkoff said he was excited to see Idan surrounded by his family and friends, and during the visit he even called President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu, separately, via his personal phone.
In his X account, the envoy wrote: "We had the opportunity to speak with the President of the United States, whose leadership made this possible. We are committed to bringing home every single abductee.".
""I had the honor of meeting Idan Alexander today and welcoming him home. After months in captivity, the world is inspired by his courage and resilience. His return gives hope to many.".
It was earlier reported that Alexander decided not to fly to Qatar and meet with President Trump.
Alexander's family said: "His medical condition requires him to rest. Idan will meet with Trump later in the US.".
