For 580 days from October 7, no sign of life was received from him.

Tamir Nimrodi's family wanted to convey: "We would like to clarify that there is no change in Tamir's status. Tamir was kidnapped to the Gaza Strip on October 7th while he was alive, and so far we have not received any information that proves otherwise.

"The definition that there is a 'fear for Tamir's life' is a description of a given and ongoing situation that stems from the lack of receiving a sign of life, and is not the result of receiving new information of any kind. It should be emphasized that in the absence of other information - Tamir is still defined as alive according to all relevant official sources."

"We ask in every language of request to avoid incorrect and inaccurate framing that may harm our Tamir. We will continue to pray and fight with all our strength for his return to us, along with the 58 other kidnapped men and women."

Nimrodi, 20, from Nirit, was kidnapped from a base in the Gaza Envelope, where he served as an education noncommissioned officer, along with two other soldiers - Ron Sherman and Nick Beiser - who were killed in Hamas captivity and whose bodies were recovered by the IDF in December 2023.

The kidnapping of the three was documented in a video released by Hamas on October 7, in which they are seen being led by terrorists from the base area to the Gaza Strip.

Tamir is seen in the kidnapping video being held alive by a terrorist by the neck, in pajamas, barefoot and without glasses. Since the kidnapping, there have been no signs of life from him, and his family is dealing with complete uncertainty about his condition.

Tamir volunteered to close the base on Shabbat after replacing another soldier. During the attack on the base, he corresponded with his mother, and before he was kidnapped, he managed to write to her: "Mom, I love you, that's it, it's over. They're here."

Earlier today, a source involved in the Gaza kidnappings said that one of the three kidnapped people whose lives are in serious danger is an Israeli, and that the other two are foreign citizens - Natpong Pinta from Thailand and Bipin Joshi from Nepal.

The source added that the families of the kidnapped are being continuously and in detail informed about the condition of their loved ones.

"According to the information available to Israel, 21 abductees are alive, and there is serious concern for the lives of three additional abductees, and there have been no signs of life from them since the period close to the outbreak of the war. Of the three, one is Israeli and two are foreigners."

"Hamas is currently holding 59 kidnapped people. 35 of them are hostages and their deaths have been officially determined. 32 of them are Israelis and three of them are foreigners."
