""Copico" drug trafficking: An indictment was filed today (Monday) against two residents of the north on suspicion of drug use and operating a drug trafficking network in several localities throughout the north, while using the pseudonym "Copico" - the beloved monkey character from the children's series.
A week ago, during an operation by the Northern District police near the Tzalmon Interchange, the police stopped for inspection a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old Tiberias resident, next to whom was a 16-year-old northern resident.
During the inspection of the vehicle and after suspicion arose that drugs were being held in the vehicle, the police conducted a search and uncovered over 200 grams of various drugs, divided into portions, and approximately 8,000 NIS.
The two were arrested for questioning at the police station, during which investigators were able to reveal that they were involved in drug distribution in various cases over the recent period in several communities in the north.
The investigation also revealed that in order to avoid revealing their names to customers, they called themselves "Copico" in the networks, where clients placed orders with them and received their orders from the two according to distribution lines.
Upon completion of the investigation, the Tiberias Prosecution Branch filed an indictment with a request for detention until the end of the proceedings at the Tiberias Magistrate's Court, for possession of drugs and for two cases in which the defendants provided drugs to clients in the north.
