At a cabinet meeting yesterday, Tourism Minister Haim Katz claimed that the attacks in Yemen are "nonsense" - and that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is "brainwashed" by talking about it.
This was announced today (Sunday) on the "Kalman and Lieberman" program on the B channel.
Katz said at the meeting: "Bibi, don't confuse your mind, it's a waste of money for the attacks in Yemen. It's nonsense. As long as you don't cut off (Iran's) head, you're just making noise and wasting money and armaments. Leave it to the Americans to operate there.".
The Prime Minister responded to Minister Katz: "Life. I can't expand on this forum. If you want, come see me later in private and we'll talk about it.".
Minister Katz's words were also joined by Minister Meir Porush - who wondered: "Why do we need to waste money? Shamir didn't take care of Iraq. If the United States is taking care of it, why should we intervene?".
Netanyahu replied: "There are things the United States does, and there are things it doesn't do. In Iraq, there was a coalition that entered on foot.".
Last night, dozens of Air Force aircraft attacked targets in Yemen, in response to a ballistic missile landing near Ben Gurion Airport.
The attacks were aimed at infrastructure of the Houthi organization, which operates under the auspices of Iran. In Israel, the operation was given the name "Ant City.".
An IDF spokesman reported that about 20 fighter jets participated in the strikes, attacking dozens of targets using 50 munitions.
This was the sixth time since the start of the war that Israel has attacked Yemen.
