The violin she played is 130 years old, belonged to a Jewish musician who perished in the Holocaust, and was given to her as a gift after her return from captivity.
Her appearance at the ceremony, after also playing the violin at the Auschwitz March of the Living, emphasized the connection between the past and the present and the longing for all the abductees to return home.
