Yaakov Wider, a member of the Bnei Brak City Council from the Likud faction, is demanding today (Monday) that Mayor Hanoch Seibert reveal the full agreement, with all its appendices, that was drawn up between the Bnei Brak Municipality and the Land Enforcement Authority.

Wieder claims that the situation in the city stems from the fact that for many years, "municipal officials ensured that the committees under their control did not approve the real needs of the public and instead approved only requests from cronies and family members - so that land worth hundreds of millions was used mainly by the officials and cronies and there was nothing left for the public.".

In the request for disclosure of the documents, Vider demands to receive, within three days, a full breakdown of the agreement, its signatories, all its appendices, any correspondence the municipality has forwarded on the matter, and conflict of interest declarations from senior officials in the municipality.

According to Wieder, "The attempt to hide from the public only increases the suspicion that this is yet another scheme you have hatched at the expense of the residents.".

The law requires Mayor Seibert to present to Councilman Wieder all the documents he requested in full.

According to a joint statement by the Bnei Brak Municipality and the Land Enforcement Authority published yesterday, in light of the authority's intensive enforcement activities, several urgent meetings were held, in which the authority's management and the municipality's management participated.

At the last meeting, the parties reached an agreement on an outline for solving the problem of the synagogues. During the meeting, the enforcement authority noted the importance it sees in maintaining open public spaces that will serve the entire public. The municipality's management emphasized that it sees eye to eye with the authority on this matter, and noted that it intends to act not only to clear the vacant lots but also to develop them, and to solve the problem of the synagogues - so that they can continue to serve the worshipping public.

The parties agreed on an outline centered on which the municipality will advance a plan that will legally regulate the synagogues, by means of relocating them to land for public purposes or one designated for public purposes. The municipality expects that in this way 100% of the currently operating synagogues will operate in areas suitable for this.

The municipality says: "The outline obviously requires cooperation from the synagogues, who will be required to join the outline in order to avoid immediate enforcement proceedings. Over the next few days, the municipality will speak with the synagogues on the matter and clarify for them the details of the outline and what is required of them.".

The authority, for its part, clarified that it will monitor and supervise the implementation of the outline and the joining of synagogues to it within a short period of time, all in cooperation with the municipality's administration.
