No more excuses for being late to school will be accepted: A new bus, called 'School Time', has been launched in the state of California and is capable of covering a quarter mile (400 meters) in a matter of seconds.
The monstrous bus is equipped with a fighter jet engine – a Douglas F4 Phantom jet engine – capable of 'guzzling' 150 gallons of fuel in a single trip.
The strange bus was built by a man named Paul Stander, a well-known sports fan who was a member of an entertainment company - and together they implemented the project.
Stander told the Express Daily website: "I built this vehicle because regular buses can't handle the speeds I aim to reach. This is my revenge for all my childhood days of being late for school.".
According to him, the bus was built by hand and is mostly made of metal plates.
So will the kids be able to get to school with it? Not yet. For now, there's only room for three people – because the engine is so big that it leaves almost no room.
Stander adds that he built the bus because of its entertainment element, but also to convey an educational message: "No to drugs" is written in large letters on the sides of the bus.
