The funds collected for the 'Olam HaTorah Fund' are running out: Last year - after the yeshiva budgets were frozen - Maran HaGara Lando, HaGara Hirsch and HaGara Salim embarked on an extensive fundraising campaign in Jewish communities around the world, with the aim of establishing an alternative funding fund. According to estimates, about $100 million was collected in the campaigns in the US, England and South America, an amount that was supposed to allow the continuation of Olam HaTorah's activities for a year.
However, in a conversation between the head of the yeshiva, Rabbi Moshe Hillel Hirsch, and the head of the yeshiva, Rabbi Aviezer Piltz, who came to discuss the future of the yeshiva world's funding, it emerged that the money is running out.
According to a report by Shiloh Fried on the Ynet website, Rabbi Hirsch said at a meeting held at his home in the Slobodka Yeshiva Hill: "It will be over in a month.".
According to him, the fund is running low and now ways must be explored to raise a similar amount for another year. During the meeting, the Gra Piltz expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Grama Hirsch in raising funds: "Rabbi Hirsch deserves our gratitude, without him we would have nothing to eat.".
In response, Rabbi Hirsch noted: "The homeowners (donors) want to continue" supporting the project, but new preparations are required.
