An 11-year-old girl and her father contracted measles in Serbia - and there is concern that upon returning to Israel, the two came into contact with others while still sick. The girl is not vaccinated.
The Ministry of Health is conducting an epidemiological investigation aimed at identifying anyone who had contact with the girl and the father on a flight, train, or bus.
This is in order to provide preventive treatment, as measles is highly contagious and may cause severe complications for those who are not vaccinated.
The office noted that the father and the girl were in the following places:
""The Ministry of Health urges everyone who was in the specified places at the time to make sure they are properly vaccinated against measles," it said. "The recommendation is for two doses of vaccine from the age of one, one month apart. Children up to the age of 6 can be vaccinated with milk drops, while older children and adults can be vaccinated through student health services and health funds.".
