
In the background of the arrest of the Shin Bet reservist: A special survey by the Direct Polls polling institute conducted for Channel 14 determines that the majority of the public does not trust Shin Bet head Ronen Bar's decisions to open the latest investigations.
In the survey, participants were asked: "What level of trust do you have in Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar's decisions to open the latest investigations?".
51% of the respondents answered that they do not have confidence in the decisions, compared to 49% who answered that they do have confidence.
Against the backdrop of the wave of refusal letters in the last two weeks - most of the public supports Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir's decision to remove from active service the soldiers who signed the letters.
In the survey, participants were asked: "Is the Chief of Staff right when he decided to dismiss from service someone who, as a soldier, signed petitions to end the war?".
53% of the respondents answered that the Chief of Staff was right in his decision, compared to 44% who answered that he was wrong. Only 3% of the respondents said that they had no position.
The sample was conducted by Shlomo Filber for Channel 14 on April 17, 2025. The data was collected using a digital system combined with a panel from Direct Polls Ltd., among 743 adult respondents (18+) who constitute a representative sample of the general population in Israel. The statistical sampling error is ±4.3% with a probability of 95%.
