
Severe tragedy in Bnei Brak: The boy Moshe Yosef Miller, 12 and a half years old from Beit Shemesh, collapsed this evening (Sunday) on the pedestrian bridge between Bnei Brak and Givat Shmuel over Highway 4, near the area where extremists from the Jerusalem faction were holding a demonstration - and was seriously injured in the head.
The medical teams that arrived at the scene provided him with initial medical treatment and evacuated him to Schneider Hospital in Petah Tikva - where he was pronounced dead. According to ZAKA, the background to the incident was likely medical.
The deceased's family is a member of the Biala Hasidic community. His father serves as a Maggid Shiur in a yeshiva in Beit Shemesh. His grandfather is the Gardash Zoldan, domtz Sert Vizhnitz in Haifa.
Yonatan Israeli, a ZAKA volunteer in the motorcycle unit who handled the incident: "The ZAKA call center rushed me to the scene at the Givat Shmuel Bridge following a report of a 13-year-old boy who collapsed and suffered a serious head injury, and unfortunately he was pronounced dead at the hospital. With the assistance of additional volunteers, we are collecting the remains left at the scene and assisting the family members in their difficult time with everything necessary.".
Rescue Paramedic Zvika Gedalovitz and Rescue Paramedic Yossi Illoz: "When we arrived at the scene, we were directed towards a 13-year-old boy who was lying unconscious with no pulse and no breathing, after collapsing in the street. Together with rescue and MDA paramedics and paramedics, we performed advanced CPR on him, which included massages and providing respiratory assistance, and he was evacuated while continuing CPR for further treatment in the shock room at Schneider Hospital in Petah Tikva.""
Moishe Kreuzer and Gedaliah Waldman, paramedics from United Hatzalah: "We were told at the scene that the boy had lost consciousness. We performed CPR on him, giving him 5 electric shocks from a defibrillator. He was then evacuated to Schneider Hospital, where CPR continued. At this stage, his condition is classified as critical.".
As mentioned, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police spokeswoman: "The police forces that were on operational duty at the protest on Highway 4 were informed about a 12-year-old boy who lost consciousness while climbing the Givat Shmuel Bridge. The police officers who went to help called the rescue forces who arrived at the scene and began performing CPR. The boy was taken to the hospital in critical condition - according to medical officials - and his death was determined at Schneider Hospital, where he was taken, following a medical incident the boy suffered, according to medical officials.".
The police emphasized: "In complete contrast to the publications, we would like to clarify that the child's unfortunate death did not occur during the demonstration, but rather at a nearby location and without any connection to the demonstration. Any other statement is untrue and misleads the public.".
Dozens of ultra-Orthodox Jews demonstrated this evening on Highway 4, near the entrance to Bnei Brak, in protest of the demand for the conscription of yeshiva students into the IDF.
