Unrest in the Jewish community on the island of Djerba in southern Tunisia - following the arrest of one of the community members.
According to a report in Kan News, last Saturday, several members of the community gathered in front of one of the security forces stations on the island to protest his arrest, which they saw as an injustice and an attempt to harass the community.
According to the version of the Tunisian security forces, the arrest was made after the man was sentenced to seven years in prison a few years ago, and was considered a fugitive for an incident related to arson of a car.
Security sources in Tunisia told the American Al-Hura channel that, contrary to what was claimed, he was not arrested on political grounds and there is no connection between his arrest and the war in Gaza.
