The newspaper 'Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed' reports, citing sources in Egypt, that the terrorist organization Hamas has expressed agreement to the Egyptian proposal for a ceasefire, under which aid will be allowed to enter and the possibility of beginning negotiations on the second phase of the ceasefire agreement will be opened.
According to Egyptian sources, Hamas agreed to release the Israeli-American hostage Idan Alexander, and four other hostages, some of whom are alive.
Channel 12 reported that Israel, on the other hand, is talking about the Witkoff outline, which includes the release of 10 live hostages out of the 24 remaining in captivity.
The current attempt is to reach what is called a "holiday deal" before Passover, releasing more hostages. The chances of reaching agreements in the next two days, the start of Eid al-Fitr, seem slim.
In addition, the newspaper Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed reported that Hamas rejected an American proposal according to which the Hamas leadership would leave the Gaza Strip, and its members would receive guarantees that they would not be targeted for assassination by Israel.
The definition of Hamas leadership included senior commanders of the Al-Qassam Brigades, who would receive financial compensation if they accepted the American offer. The list of senior figures includes Muhammad Sinwar, the leader of the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, Muhammad Shabana, commander of the Rafah Brigade, and Izz ad-Din Haddad, commander of the Gaza Brigade.
Channel 12 reported that Israel is very cautious about giving encouraging signs regarding the chances of releasing the hostages soon, and yet this evening (Saturday night) cautious progress can be noted.
This evening, a discussion will be held by the Political-Security Cabinet in which the ministers will receive an overview of the new initiatives of Qatar, Egypt, and the United States.
Israel is giving them an opportunity for a breakthrough, but there are also elements who believe that the current pressure is not enough to lead to a decision by Hamas, so it is not impossible that we will very soon see an escalation in IDF activity in the Gaza Strip.
The IDF continues to fight and evacuate residents in Gaza
The IDF informed Gaza residents in the Abasan, Al-Qarara, and Khirbet Khazaa areas that it would attack launch sites in the area and called on them to evacuate westward.
""The terrorist organizations are again launching rockets from among the civilians," wrote IDF spokesman Col. Avichai Adraei in Arabic. "This area has been warned many times. For your safety, you must immediately evacuate to the shelters in the Moasi area.".
The announcement came shortly after an IDF spokesman announced that 3 mortar shells were fired at our forces operating on the outskirts of Khan Yunis. In addition, the IDF reported that a D9 vehicle from the Engineering Corps came across an explosive device in the area. There were no casualties in either incident.
