After almost three months of silence: Alarms were activated this morning (Friday) around 8:00 AM in the northern border communities of Margaliot, Misgav Am, Kiryat Shmona and Tel Hai.

The IDF reported that two launches by Hezbollah terrorists from Lebanese territory were detected: one launch was intercepted and the other fell in Lebanese territory.

Defense Minister Israel Katz responded to the shooting: "Kiryat Shmona is treated like Beirut. If there is no peace in Kiryat Shmona and the Galilee communities, there will be no peace in Beirut either. The Lebanese government bears direct responsibility for every shot fired at the Galilee. We will not allow a return to the reality of October 7th. We will ensure the security of the residents of the Galilee and will act forcefully against any threat.".

Kiryat Shmona Mayor Avichai Stern: "Yesterday we worked hard to convince the residents who did not return to return home. Today we are working to convince those who have already returned to stay in the city. This is called a changing reality. The main thing is that 'Hezbollah is deterred.' Is the cabinet meeting today or is it not interesting if it's Kiryat Shmona?!".

Head of the Metula Local Council, David Azoulay: "This is exactly what we feared, the drips like they have been in the south for twenty-three years. We will not allow this and we will not accept it. The Israeli government must declare today the cancellation of the 1701 Agreement and announce that they are continuing to eliminate all terrorist organizations in Lebanon, headed by Hezbollah. The disaster of the October 7 attacks began with these drips and we will not allow this in the north. It is urgent to act today.".

In Lebanon, there are reports of IDF artillery fire at several locations in the south of the country following the launches.
