Defense Minister Yisrael Katz announced that he will not allow Defense Minister and former Chief of Staff Moshe (Bogi) Ya'alon to participate in rallies at IDF bases.
According to a Channel 7 report, the decision was made following a letter sent by Itzik Buntzel, the father of Sergeant Amit Ya'd, in which he protested Ya'alon's expected participation in the National Security College alumni conference.
As a result, it was decided to cancel his participation in the event.
The letter states: "Bogi Ya'alon is the man who claimed that IDF soldiers were carrying out ethnic cleansing in Gaza, defined the war as a 'war of deception' and even hinted that he 'hopes that Israel will not send soldiers to murder babies in Gaza.'".
The devout father added: "It is not clear to us what went through the minds of the graduates of the National Security College when they invited this despicable and inciting man, whose words were quoted around the world by Israel-haters and served as fuel for anti-Semites.".
The bereaved father asked the Defense Minister to prevent Ya'alon from appearing at the event: "This is a military facility of the Defense Ministry and not a private hall. This is within your authority.".
Following this, as stated, the Minister of Defense decided to comply and prevent Ya'alon from participating in gatherings held at IDF bases.
