The Minister of Labor signed the minimum wage increase today (Monday).
Starting next month, the monthly minimum wage will be 6,247 shekels. The hourly minimum wage will be 34.32 shekels per hour.
In January 2024, the minister announced his intention to raise the minimum wage. This, he said, was due to internal work done in his office.
The monthly minimum wage subsequently increased, at the end of March, to 5,880.02 shekels, and the hourly wage to 32.30 shekels.
""The expected increase in the minimum wage is welcome and necessary," the minister said at the time. "The cost of living is rising at an alarming rate and we must adjust workers' salaries accordingly. The Ministry of Labor will continue to fight for the rights and status of workers.".
