ZAKA volunteers were called this morning (Sunday) to attend to the natural death of a 91-year-old man, who died at his home on Yoseftal Street in the city of Bat Yam.
Shai Mizrahi, a ZAKA volunteer and ambulance driver, who treated the incident, says: "This morning, a call was received at the ZAKA hotline about a 91-year-old man who had died in his home. When I arrived at the scene and provided assistance and support to the family, I learned that a few hours earlier, on Saturday afternoon, the deceased's wife had also died in the same apartment, at the age of 87.".
Israel Hasid, ZAKA spokesman: "ZAKA volunteers handle deaths every day, but this case is particularly unusual, as the two spouses died only hours apart. The volunteers are accompanying the family and assisting them as needed.".
The couple's funeral will take place tonight at 7:30 PM at the Yarkon Cemetery, Shaar HaChesed.
