The shoemaker goes barefoot: American cigarette manufacturer Camel Reynolds will ban smoking in its offices and production buildings, starting next year.

The company informed its employees that the use of cigarettes, cigars, or traditional pipes is no longer permitted in the company's offices, elevators, conference rooms, or even hallways.

The ban will go into effect starting next year, after the company builds special smoking areas for those who still want to continue consuming the company's products on its premises.

Reynolds, the American tobacco company, is the second largest in the United States. It manufactures many tobacco products, including Camel, Winston, Doral, Full Mole cigarettes, and more, as well as Grizzly and Kodiak snuff. Reynolds controls 28 percent of the tobacco market in the United States.

A company spokesperson told Sky News that the new state will be able to accommodate the company's employees from both groups, both smokers and non-smokers.

The spokesman also said that the company will allow smoking in smokeless tobacco products such as electronic cigarettes and moist snuff.
