Rabbi Yishai David Beishitz, 42, rabbi of the Neta Yaminach Yeshiva and rabbi of the Gimzo High Yeshiva, a resident of Ashtmoa, was killed this morning (Tuesday) in a car accident near the Beit Kama interchange on Highway 6.
He left behind a wife and eight children.
The deceased's vehicle was involved in an accident with a truck and a bus.
Fire and rescue teams from the Beer Sheva station were rushed to the scene and worked to extract him from the vehicle - at the end of which he was pronounced dead at the scene.
MDA paramedic Aya Khalila and MDA emergency medical technician Anat Yavdeev said: "When we arrived at the scene, we saw the driver of the private vehicle, a 42-year-old man, who was unconscious and trapped inside his vehicle. We performed medical examinations on him, but his injuries were critical and we had no choice but to declare him dead."
"In addition, we examined a number of minor injuries from the bus passengers who did not require further medical treatment in the accident."
Noam Wagner and Dodi Oberlander, paramedics at United Hatzalah: "This is a difficult scene of an accident involving a truck and a private vehicle. Unfortunately, the driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead as a result of the nature of the severe injuries he suffered."
Moshe Zeidl, commander of the Kiryat Gat ZAKA team, added: "The views at the scene of the accident are very difficult. The driver of the private vehicle was trapped between a bus and a truck, and unfortunately was rescued by a firefighter while lifeless. The Kiryat Gat ZAKA team is taking care of the honor of the deceased and collecting the remains for burial."
His funeral was held this evening at the Susya cemetery.
Seven and a half years ago, his older brother, Attorney Elkana Beishitz, a resident of Givat Shmuel, was killed in an accident near the Maccabim checkpoint on Highway 443, when the motorcycle he was riding on his way to court collided with a truck.
