A survey published today (Tuesday) by the Anti-Defamation League shows that 461% of the world's adult population holds significant anti-Semitic positions.
This is a total of 2.2 billion people worldwide.
This figure is more than twice as high as the results of the first global survey conducted by the League a decade ago and the highest rate recorded since the Anti-Defamation League began tracking anti-Semitism trends worldwide.
The current survey sampled over 58,000 adults from 103 countries and regions, representing 941% of the world's adult population.
The survey found that 20% of respondents worldwide have not heard of the Holocaust. Less than half - 48% - recognize the historical truth of the Holocaust, but this rate drops to just 39% among 18- to 34-year-olds.
The survey data also shows that young people under the age of 35 hold higher rates of anti-Semitic attitudes (50%), a gap of 13 percent compared to adults over the age of 50.
According to the survey, the countries and regions with the highest percentages for anti-Semitism include the West Bank and Gaza Strip (97%), Kuwait (97%) and Indonesia (96%), while the countries that received the lowest scores are Sweden (5%), Norway (8%), Canada (8%) and the Netherlands (8%).
