On the last day of 2024, the Knesset Finance Committee met this morning (Tuesday) to approve the transfer, among other things, of approximately 180 million shekels to finance coalition agreements. During a heated debate in the committee on budget changes, a heated verbal confrontation erupted between MKs Moshe Gafni and Yitzhak Pindros and opposition MKs. MK Naama Lazimi shouted at Gafni: "Thief, you stole from us, you looted us, we will take the entire opposition to the High Court. Look what you are doing here." A verbal confrontation also broke out between Vladimir Belyak, the future Mish, and Pindros. Belyak shouted at him: "You dodge" - and Pindros replied: "Shut up, you don't work for you." The discussion, which took place in a tense atmosphere, dealt with the implications of the budget changes and extensive financial transfers, including to the Haredi education networks, which were criticized by opposition members - who sought the opinion of the committee's legal advisor who was present at the discussion. The budget change came up for a vote amid outcry from opposition Knesset members.
MK Belyak Mish Atid shouted: """You are stealing from the public purse.".
MK Gafni slammed the opposition members: "Wicked! If I had gone to a coalition with you, you would have been silent." MK Lazimi responded harshly, calling it "a disgrace," referring to the transfer of 8 billion shekels - and added: "God forbid.".
