Residents of the Ramat Arbel settlement in the Lower Galilee, located on private land, have agreed to voluntarily evacuate to nearby state lands - until a permanent settlement is established in the area. This was announced by the Minister of Construction and Housing, Yitzhak Goldknopf, to the Secretary of the Cabinet, Yossi Fox, after the consent of the representatives of the settlers and the entities settling in the area. Minister Goldknopf wrote to the Secretary of the Cabinet: "At the cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister instructed you, as the Secretary of the Cabinet, to expedite the approvals required to establish a temporary settlement, and therefore I will ask you to convene an urgent discussion on the subject with my participation, and also to invite the Minister of Justice and the Minister of the Interior and the relevant professional entities." The Minister notes: "The Ministry of Construction and Housing sees great importance in establishing the temporary site as a basis for establishing a permanent settlement." The Minister of Construction and Housing is leading the establishment of a temporary site nearby, based on the settlements that were established without planning in the south of the country, as part of the Iron Swords War. In a letter sent by Minister Goldknopf to the Cabinet Secretary, he noted that he was "convinced that the settlers are willing to sign a transfer to a temporary site that will be established on nearby state land, thereby vacating the private areas on which they have settled." This move was made with the consent of all parties involved, including the Israel Land Authority. The Minister emphasized the importance of the settlement in Ramat Arbel: "The residents of Ramat Arbel are pioneers who work for the development and expansion of Jewish settlement in the Galilee, and I see it as a great duty and right to assist them as much as possible. The Ramat Arbel settlement will be a significant reinforcement for the implementation of the government's decision to bring a quality Jewish population to the settlement in the Galilee.".
