Zvika Mor, the father of Eitan Mor, who is being held captive by Hamas in Gaza, addressed the differences of opinion between the Tikva Forum and other families of the abductees in an interview with 103FM today (Tuesday). Mor explained the differences between the families of the abductees: "We are all registered with the headquarters, and we have a connection with the headquarters. Each family has a volunteer who is responsible for that family, who makes announcements, and so on. The large amounts of money raised at the headquarters were also raised for our loved ones. We have always seen ourselves as a faction within the headquarters, because we see the headquarters as a home and shelter for all opinions. "There is Einav Tsengaukar and her group, there is our group, the parents of the hostages also see themselves as a group in their own right, and they hired a strategist for themselves." He noted that there are differences between him and Tsengaukar. "We all talk and we are all friends, I have a very good relationship with Einav Tsengaukar. I think she is making a big mistake, and I have told her that too. It hurts to say, but I think Matan Tsengaukar is the most valuable hostage because of these actions, I have a hard time understanding the steps she is taking. The enemy wants to hurt you, the more you shout 'Ay', he gets feedback that he is on the right track. "If we were just talking about destroying the enemy, I think the hostages would have been here a long time ago. The prominence of the pain and sorrow and the inability to cope, I think it distances us from a deal. It's like that in every negotiation." He added: "It's clear to me that she doesn't want it, and it comes from some big fracture. Of course she wants her son at home, she's not acting against her son, in my view such behavior distances us from a deal." Mor added: "I am against a deal that could decide the fate of the young men and soldiers. I suggest that the State of Israel do what is necessary to force Hamas to return them all in one day. The State of Israel has set itself a goal for the war, which is to overthrow Hamas. If Hamas is a danger to the State of Israel, it needs to be done in such a way that we achieve both goals." According to him, "If I knew for sure that they would return them all, there would be room to consider that we could return later and fight. I am afraid that we will not be able to return to fight because there will be American guarantees, and my grave concern as Eitan's father is that they will never return all the kidnapped people to us. They can always say, 'We have twenty people left. Do you want them or not?'. Will we tell them no?" Mor believes that the state is not acting correctly in the fighting in Gaza. He elaborated: "We need to completely change direction. This war should have ended after two weeks. We need to take the right steps with the right tactics so that we can return the kidnapped people.".
So, what should the IDF have done to promote a hostage deal? He explained: "It's not my job, I can't tell the government and the army what to do tactically, I can talk about principles: save the State of Israel from the new Nazi enemy, and of course return all the hostages. What we are fighting in Gaza is not enough. The fact is that Hamas is meeting all the prices we have been charging it for the past fourteen months. We are not doing the Middle Eastern acts that have the special audacity: expelling terrorists, confiscating the property of terrorist families, collective punishment. That's why Jews continue to be murdered here in the streets." So why was a deal made last year? In his opinion, it happened because of the right pressure from the IDF at the time: "The deal came about as a result of very heavy business pressure and the closing of the humanitarian tap. It didn't come about because of Hamas' generosity, but because of our pressure. You have to cause the enemy the greatest suffering until he returns the kidnapped. We have a habit in the country of solving a current problem and rolling over the next disaster for future generations. I want my Eitan to return and be the last kidnapped person in the State of Israel.".
