A shake-up in the Haredi network: Daniel Werdiger, CEO of Yesh Chesed, the Shufersal sub-chain operating in the Haredi sector, has been summoned for a hearing before being fired. According to a report by Golan Hazani in Calcalist, the CEO's assistant, Haim Rand, has also been summoned for a hearing. The announcement was made to Werdiger today. According to Calcalist, sources familiar with the matter claim that the background to the move is a severe crisis of trust between him and management. Today, Yesh Chesed - which employs 1,200 workers in 38 branches located in Haredi areas - is run as a separate chain, while the Amir brothers, the controlling owners of Shufersal, are interested in the management being network-wide. The Amir brothers acquired control of the Shufersal chain a little less than a year ago, and have made many changes to the management team and management style. Verdiger has served as CEO of Yesh Chesed since 2015. At Yesh Chesed branches, prices are about 10% lower. Yesh Chesed has fewer staff, fewer cashiers, lower operating costs, more independent cash registers, and less stringent washing products than Beshfersal.
