A 21-year-old man was slightly injured this evening (Tuesday) in a car-ramming attack on Rabbi Kahaneman Street in Bnei Brak. The terrorist, an Israeli Arab, fled to the parking lot of the Shuk Ha'ir building, where he was arrested by the police. The injured man's condition is described as mild and he is suffering from injuries to his limbs. Rescue medics Yehuda Mor and Yechiel Esterson: "When we arrived at the scene, we found a pedestrian, a 21-year-old man, suffering from injuries to his limbs and back after being hit by a vehicle driven by a nationalist group. Together with rescue medics and paramedics from Hatzalah and MDA, we provided him with initial medical treatment, which included immobilization and dressings, and he was evacuated in a minor condition to continue receiving medical treatment in the trauma room at the Mayanei Hayeshua Hospital in the city." The police investigation indicates that this was a nationalist incident that ended in a great miracle. Immediately upon receiving a report of the incident, police and municipal policing teams were dispatched to the scene and, with the assistance of the municipal camera system, quickly traced his route, closing the lane and forcing the suspect to enter a parking lot near the exit from the city - where he was captured.
Arrest of the terrorist in the parking lot
The police summarized the attack: This evening, at around 5:40 PM, the police received a report of a hit-and-run accident on Rabbi Kahneman Street in Bnei Brak, with the driver fleeing the scene and continuing on his way. A motorcyclist chased the suspect vehicle. Large police forces quickly arrived at the scene. Meanwhile, officers from the Bnei Brak Police Motorcycle Unit made contact and caught the suspect in the vehicle, in a nearby underground parking garage to which he had fled. The officers arrested the suspect, an Israeli Arab. An initial investigation revealed that the suspect stepped onto the sidewalk while driving and intentionally hit a pedestrian and continued driving until he was stopped in a nearby underground parking garage. As part of the assessment of the situation at the scene by the Tel Aviv District Commander, Superintendent Haim Sargaroff, together with the Dan Region Commander, Chief of Police Daniel Haddad, the investigation was assigned to the Dan Region Crime Fighting Unit. "At this time, many police forces are continuing a wide deployment to increase the security of residents in the area, and are working at the scene to collect additional findings, including collecting evidence and documentation from the scene," the police said.

Mayor Hanoch Seibert praised the activities of the Bnei Brak Police Station, under the command of Senior Lieutenant Rotem Wasker, and the municipal policing teams led by Inspector Elad Amoyel and Director of the Policing Division Shlomi Malka, for their alertness and operational work. "At this time, we are investigating the incident and will do everything to prevent any entry of the Shevhaim into the city's borders while taking strong and special measures and locating operations around the clock. We are doing and will continue to do and will add security activities to closely guard the city and its residents.".
