Chief of Staff to recruits: Starting tonight, we are also fighting in a fourth arena - Syria

Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi arrived today (Sunday) to meet the new recruits to the Golani Brigade at the recruitment office in Tel Hashomer and told them that starting last night, in addition to the Gaza Strip, Lebanon and Judea and Samaria, the IDF is also fighting in a fourth arena - Syria.

The Golani Brigade, which fought fiercely and courageously in the Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon, paid a heavy price in blood, with dozens of its fighters falling in battles in both arenas.

 The Chief of Staff said: "As of last night, we are fighting in four theaters. The ground forces are fighting in four theaters, in terror in Judea and Samaria, in Gaza and in Lebanon, and last night we also sent forces into Syrian territory. "We have excellent ground forces that work together, infantry, armor, engineering and artillery, and work together with other forces in the IDF, air, sea and intelligence. All of this brings the IDF, even after a difficult year, even after a very difficult day on Simchat Torah last year, to move forward very strongly and defend the country well. "It's going to be yours in a few minutes, you'll put on your uniform in a moment and you're receiving this stick with a very great responsibility, knowing how to be together well, because that's the resilience of the State of Israel, being with each other.".
