Poll: Ben Gvir strengthens at Likud's expense, Lieberman rises, Deri declines

Against the backdrop of the ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah in Lebanon: A survey by the Direct Polls polling institute published this evening (Thursday) on Channel 14 shows that Itamar Ben-Gvir's party, which opposed the agreement with Lebanon, is gaining strength at the expense of the Likud led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The Yisrael Beitenu party is strengthening by a seat and stands at 15 seats compared to 14 last week. Shas is weakening by a seat and stands at 10 seats compared to 11 in the last survey. The State Camp party remains with 14, the Democrats party maintains the number from the previous survey with 12 seats. The Yesh Atid party and United Torah Judaism are left with only 8 seats. Ra’am with 5, Hadash Ta’al with 5 seats as well, and Religious Zionism stands at only 4 seats. 1.9% for Balad and 0.3% for the state right. Division into blocs: 61 seats for the coalition, a decrease of one seat from the last poll. The opposition gains a seat and stands at 49 seats. The Arab parties stand at 10 seats.   According to the data, 45% of Israeli citizens think that the most suitable person for the position of Prime Minister is Benjamin Netanyahu. 26% believe that Benny Gantz is the most suitable person to serve, while 29% claim that neither of them is suitable. The survey data also showed that 46% of Israeli citizens think that the most suitable person for the position of Prime Minister is Benjamin Netanyahu. 23% believe that Opposition Leader Yair Lapid is the most suitable person, while 31% claimed that neither of them is suitable. What is the connection between the ceasefire and the hostage release deal? The survey shows that a large portion of the Israeli public thinks that the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon is promoting some kind of deal to release hostages. According to the data, 44% of the Israeli public believes that the ceasefire in Lebanon is promoting some kind of deal to release hostages, compared to 25% who think that it actually distances the chance of a deal. 31% responded that they do not know. Should the Chief of Staff end his position after the agreement? The survey shows that almost half of the Israeli public thinks that Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi should not end his position after the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon. According to the data, 48% of the public answered that they do not think the Chief of Staff should end his position. By a difference of a few percentage points, 44% responded that they are in favor of Halevi's retirement or removal from his position. 8% did not express their position on the issue. [Gallery]

The sample was conducted by Shlomo Filber and Zuriel Sharon through Direct Pulse Ltd. for Channel Now 14 on November 28, 2024, using a digital system combined with a panel, among 520 adult respondents (18+) who constitute a representative sample of the general population in Israel. The statistical sampling error is ±4.5% with a probability of 95%.
