More than a day since the ceasefire went into effect: An IDF unmanned aerial vehicle attacked a vehicle in the village of Merkava in southern Lebanon, on the border with Israel, this morning (Thursday). According to reports in the country, three people were injured at the scene. The IDF wanted to emphasize that the drone attacked near the vehicle, not to eliminate the vehicle's occupants - but to remove the car from the prohibited area. Later, an IDF spokesman updated: In the last hour, suspects were identified arriving, some with vehicles, in several areas in southern Lebanon, which constitutes a violation. IDF forces fired at them. "The IDF is deployed in the southern Lebanon area and enforces any violation of the ceasefire agreement," the IDF statement said. In the past 24 hours, since the ceasefire went into effect, the IDF has fired several times at suspects who tried to approach prohibited areas near the border with Israel. The ceasefire in Lebanon went into effect early Wednesday morning at 4:00 AM. In the coming weeks, the IDF intends to enforce it with a heavy hand - from the ground and from the air. Any violation that is detected - even in depth, including attempts to smuggle weapons from the Syria-Lebanon border, is expected to result in a severe response, even at the cost of entering days of combat. The army promises to act decisively and ensure that any violation will be met with fire.
