Rothman refused to air the film of the kidnapped Sasha Tropanov in the committee - and here's why

The headquarters of the families of the abductees approached the chairman of the Constitution Committee, MK Simcha Rotman, with a request to broadcast in the committee this morning (Monday) the film released by Islamic Jihad of the abductee Sasha Tropanov. Rotman refused the request, explaining that he would not allow the distribution of the propaganda of the terrorist organizations, since the content was dictated to Tropanov by his captors. Rotman wrote: "I was asked by the headquarters of the families of the abductees to screen the film of the abductee Sasha Tropanov, which was filmed and apparently also directed by the terrorist organization Hamas. I share the grief and pain of all the families of the kidnapped, including of course the Tropanov family, but I will not be able to allow Hamas propaganda messages to be distributed in the Constitution Committee." However, he wanted to emphasize: "Of course, the families of the kidnapped and the bereaved families will also be able to speak in the committee today, as every Monday, and make their voices heard." In the latest video released, Sasha addressed Shas Chairman Aryeh Deri and called on him to work for his release - in accordance with the legacy of Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, who ruled that "the commandment to redeem captives - we cannot surpass it." In the text, which was apparently dictated to him by his captors, Tropanov says: "Do not allow Netanyahu and the government to abandon us and steal our lives. Please do not let them make it our fate to die here, to die in the darkness of the tunnels in Gaza without burial in the Land of Israel.".
