Maj. Gen. (Res.) Yaakov Amidror, former Chief of Staff for National Security, estimated today (Tuesday), in an interview with 103FM radio, that Iran has not yet made a decision on whether it is right for it to respond to the Israeli attack. Amidror pointed to a difficult dilemma on the Iranian side: "I personally think that the Iranians themselves have not decided, because they understand the gap between what they would like to do to us in light of the damage they suffered in the last air force attack, and their exposure after we stripped them of the ability to defend themselves well from air force planes. "They need to work on this gap, because they understand their exposure gap, and they also understand that they need to reciprocate. They learned another thing: our defense system is very good, and their defense system is bad. I don't know, but I think they don't know yet either," Amidror said. He referred to the possibility of ending the war in Lebanon with a diplomatic agreement. "Theoretically, that's true. Why is that? Because we are at our peak and have no interest in continuing, and Hezbollah is at its lowest point. He understands that with every passing day we are harming it more. "In southern Lebanon too - because the ground forces continue to clear and push north, and also the air force, which is taking down more targets. So theoretically they also have such an interest. The problem is that they have to admit defeat, and that is never easy, and so I don't know if they will admit this defeat.".
