The race in Jerusalem: Religious Zionist candidate Gra Stern receives additional support for his candidacy.
The Gaon Rabbi Zalman Nehemiah Goldberg, known as the "Garzan", son-in-law of the Harrash Auerbach zt"l and Av Beit Din of "Hishar Ve'Tov" in Jerusalem, met this morning with Rabbi Stern's chief of staff and expressed his support for the position of Ashkenazi rabbi.
The rabbi spoke about his many years of acquaintance with the Gra Stern through his position as head of the Halacha Berura Institute, and emphasized that "Rabbi Stern is a great and true scholar.".
Rabbi Goldberg added that he always participates in the institute's events out of respect for Rabbi Stern and his work, and that he will always continue to do so.
Rabbi Stern's headquarters notes that this support joins the support of the Rebbe of Erlaoui and the Rishaltz Grav Doron for Rabbi Stern's candidacy. According to him, Rabbi Stern's people are even working to convince members of the electorate to support Rabbi Stern.
Rabbi Stern is the leading candidate for the Ashkenazi chair, and the chances of the ultra-Orthodox candidate, Rabbi Lau, are not high at this time.
