MK Moshe Shimon Roth from United Torah Judaism addressed the conscription law and the daycare law today (Wednesday) in an interview on Kol Brama radio, attacking Minister Ofir Sofer and claiming that 'a coalition agreement was signed, and agreements must be honored.' Roth said: “There is no shortage of manpower in the IDF and there is no real need to conscript Haredim." According to him, "the IDF is not interested in conscripting Haredim” – and added: "The national religious have become the left’s useful idiots. A conscription law will not pass in the State of Israel." Roth criticized the political use, in his words, of left-wing activists in the memory of the martyrs of religious Zionism: "They persecuted these people when they were alive – and now they are using the martyrs of religious Zionism as a tool for political attack. They served in "Bamahane" and Galei IDF, and now the left is using the victims of the war." He claimed that "the whole conscription issue is one big bluff. What bothers the left is that there is a strengthening and rapprochement within the national camp." In response to the words of the Minister of Immigration and Absorption, Ofir Sofer, who said "we received a spit in the face from the Haredi leadership in the recruitment process" - Roth replied in sharp words: "He is attached to some chair, very strongly attached, and that will decide all ideologies. Every Shabbat has a Shabbat night, he needs things too. He just wanted to prove to his public that he is some great warrior. That's the end of the ceremony - and he went to sleep.".
