Air Force Commander, Maj. Gen. Tomer Bar, held a conversation today (Thursday) with fighters and commanders at the Tel Nof base, during which he addressed the force's activities over the past week and its readiness to expand fighting in the northern sector.
"We are now in Lebanon going to prevent any possibility of weapons transfers from Iran in contrast to what we have now deprived Hezbollah of," said the Air Force commander. "This is a mission that becomes the first in the order of priorities, because the confidence of Nasrallah, Hezbollah, in the ability to recover from what happened to it a few days ago, depends on the open rift coming from Iran.
"We are actually preparing shoulder to shoulder with the Northern Command for the entry of a ground maneuver. We are preparing, if it is activated. It is a decision above us, but what we illustrated and demonstrated in the Southern Command, in the maneuver in Gaza, with the air envelope that surrounds each Tsakah, up to the level of the soldier who entered - that is the starting point in the north. The threats there are higher, and the importance of this partnership in the combined maneuver, ground and air, I hope we will illustrate this if required."
He added: "Prepare for this and it involves all the formations here. We will continue and apply pressure as much as necessary. The targets are both bank targets, targets prepared in advance, and also targets that come to us in real time, with all the capabilities that exist in the IDF, including, you know, at this base."
"This pressure will increase as much as necessary, and it has no specific areas or specific domains. It is underground, on the ground, in southern Lebanon and also in Beirut. As long as it threatens the residents of the State of Israel, and it is not just in the north, Hezbollah has capabilities that also reach the center, capabilities that also reach the south, this is our opportunity to undermine, to take them out of the air, from the ground, in an orderly manner."
