The political system is experiencing dramatic moments today (Monday): Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office is preparing to appoint the chairman of the State Right, Gideon Sa'ar, to the position of Minister of Defense in place of Yoav Galant. Netanyahu received the approval of all the heads of the coalition factions to carry out the move to add Sa'ar. Sources involved in the talks between Netanyahu and Sa'ar told Kan News this evening: "The issues of principle are closed - Sa'ar will serve as Minister of Defense in place of Yoav Galant." Therefore, all that remains is to finalize the final details regarding the agreement between the parties, which, according to estimates, if there is no last-minute drama, the announcement of the expansion of the government is expected to be made in the coming hours. According to the report, Yoav Galant, for his part, pledged that "no matter what - I will remain in the Likud. "Not leaving the party." In recent hours, Netanyahu tried again to convince Saar to take the foreign affairs portfolio instead of the defense portfolio, but Saar refused. Netanyahu also agreed to Saar's demand to reserve two to three of his people in the Likud, but not himself. Saar, according to the agreement, will run in the upcoming Likud primaries. In addition, Netanyahu agreed to include a clause in the agreement according to which the return of the residents of the north to their homes will be included in the list of war goals. As part of the talks between the two, it was agreed with Saar about the conscription law that it would not be explicitly written in the agreement, even though it had already been made clear to Netanyahu's people that Saar would allow the law to be passed. Senior Haredi leaders held talks with Elkin for an agreed-upon wording for the conscription law. Senior Haredi leaders: We received the green light from Saar and Elkin to support the conscription law that the government will promote and not require the opposition's consent as Gallant demanded. According to a report on Channel 12, despite the progress in the talks, there are difficulties behind the scenes: Netanyahu's inner circle, especially Sara Netanyahu, opposes Sa'ar's appointment to the Defense Ministry.
