A development in the business dispute between billionaire Michael Miralashvili - whose son Yitzhak Miralashvili owns Channel 14 and Kol Hai radio - and his cousin Shabtai Alon, could indicate the nature of the ties between the Miralashvili family and Shas Chairman Aryeh Deri. The lawsuit filed by the cousin has been pending in court for more than two years. According to a report by Bar Shem-Or, host of the investigative program "Zman Emet" on "Kan News", Alon's lawyers are requesting to summon Shas Chairman Aryeh Deri to testify, so that he can testify about the nature of the alleged business relationship between the cousins - Miralashvili and Alon. Alon is demanding money from Miralashvili that he claims he owes him as part of diamond transactions that the two allegedly had. On the other hand, Miralashvili claims that there was no business relationship between him and Alon - beyond their family relationship. According to Bar-Or's report, Alon's request through his lawyer Zohar Landa alleged that Shabtai allegedly introduced Mirashvili to Aryeh Deri in the 1990s and through him "established contacts with rabbis and key figures in the Haredi community." The request also alleged that "Deri accompanied the two to many events" and was aware of their partnership and could testify to it.
