18 people were killed during takeoff of a plane in Kathmandu, Nepal, after it overturned seconds after taking off, crashed - and caught fire. There were 19 people on board the plane - 18 Nepalese citizens and a Yemeni citizen. According to the country's media, the pilot survived the crash. Most of the plane's passengers were technicians who took off to service another plane in the city of Pokhara. The airport in Kathmandu has been closed for the time being. Nepal is considered one of the most dangerous places in the world to fly, partly due to its mountainous terrain. Nepal is home to 8 of the 14 highest mountains in the world and the country's weather is subject to sharp changes that make it difficult to plan a flight route.
